Coaching Courses:

•Rugby Ready -> This is a key course because it's a prerequisite for most of the other courses. The IRB Rugby Ready programme was launched to educate, aid and support players, coaches, match officials on the importance of sufficient preparation for training and playing in order for rugby to be played and enjoyed while reducing the risk of serious injury. Two sessions held at the club with RFU trainer. Next one is on 18th Sep
•Scrum Factory -> Aims to increase the number of players able to play in the scrum, particularly the front row. The course is designed to help coaches and players to understand individual and collective techniques, as well as position specific conditioning. Course booked at our club on Wed 20th Sep
•UKCC Level 1 -> Entry point for coaches of Mini/Midi Players [U7 to U12]. Provides those working with children with the knowledge, skills and attributes essential to developing children’s social, personal, physical and mental skills through the technical and tactical aspects of the game. Course to be organised for Q4 2017

Refereeing Courses:

We often struggle to get qualified referees to officiate our league games from u12 upwards, and to help out at the mini/midi level too
•Level 1: Refereeing Children -> for refereeing minis. This course is designed to provide new referees with the core skills to be able to referee rugby union safely and confidently.
•Level 2: Refereeing the 15-a-side game -> for refereeing U13 and above. This course is for new and developing referees wanting to referee the 15-a-side game and will equip delegates with the skills and confidence to do so effectively.

•Play It Safe -> This course is for any volunteer, coach or referee working with children in rugby. Identifying best practice, it provides information and guidance on the responsibilities and support available for ensuring children are safeguarded appropriately
•Emergency First Aid in Rugby Union -> The EFARU course is the RFU’s specifically developed course that provides the recommended minimum level of first aid training for any appointed first aiders. Provides a sound level of knowledge and understanding and covers topics specifically to relevant rugby volunteers assisting at matches and training sessions
